Jeanette Grace Akers entered into this life on September 4, 1940 in Broomfield, Colorado born to James F. and Elaine (Neff) Sherman and entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at her home at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 15 days. She married Norman Akers on August 30, 1958 in Caddo, OK and they were blessed with three children. She was a loving and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed crocheting, playing slots at Choctaw, but more than anything her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren activities. Jeanette will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters, Lorraine and Patricia.

Those loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 51 plus years, Norman Akers of the home; children, Elaine Akers Hegwood of Caddo, James Akers and wife Missy of Idabel, OK and Loretta Akers Jenkins and husband David of Forney, TX; sisters and brothers, Kaye Winn, Marlene Ciongoli, James Sherman and George Sherman; grandchildren, Johnathan Hegwood and wife Alexis of Corpus Christi, TX, Rebecca Hegwood of N. Richland Hills, TX, Joshua Jenkins of Forney, TX, James David Jenkins of Forney, TX, Nathan Akers of Idabel, OK, Justin Akers of Idabel, OK and Jessica Miller of Caddo, OK; numerous other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

A celebration of Jeanette's life will be held on Friday, May 21st, 3:00 PM at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Stanley Joseph will officiate. The Funeral Home will be open tonight until 8:00 PM for viewing.
