Myrtle Faye Keeling was the wife of Laddy Joe Bushek. She was one of eight children born to Posey Alexander and Mary Etta Keeling. She was the granddaughter of Captain George Washington Keeling, one of the early pioneers of Georgia and east Texas, who led a group of families from Georgia to Upshur County, Texas after the Civil War. She became a nurse during World War II. She had no children of her own, but devoted her life to private duty nursing, caring for the children of others.
