"Mrs. Hetta Bishop of Gates, of consumption, 36 yr. 9 mo. 14 day. Wife of E. N. Bishop. She went to Virginia last Oct. to try to regain health, returned home she and her husband visited Galesburg Illinois her brother 18 d. She began to worsen and she died on the train west of Concil Bluffs. She marr. at Rio, Ill. Feb. 12, 1882 to E.N. Bishop. They came to C. Co. where 2 years prior he had located on the Middle Loup River near Gates. She converted 14 yrs. ago and joined Methodist Church, faithful member to her death. Mother of 2 girls and 1 boy, oldest 8 and yongest 3. She was highly respected lady. Fun. at Gates Sunday at 11 a.m."
Hetta died on a Burlington train near Ravenna, NE. She was on her way home after seeking medical assistance in Virginia."
