OBITUARY:

ARKANSAS CITY - Brian L. Rozelle, 60, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his home in Arkansas City. Mr. Rozelle was born May 13, 1942, at Ellsworth to Floyd Burton Bert and Adrien Alice Harts Rozelle. He was reared in Ellsworth, where he was graduated from high school in 1960. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving two years in Turkey. He was an instrument-rated pilot. Upon his discharge from the service, he worked as a disc jockey and reporter for KUPK radio station in Garden City, KSAL in Salina and KABI in Abilene. He started work as an electronic technician for the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad in 1978. He moved to Arkansas City in 1981. He was a life member of the Spencer-Ralston Post 1254 VFW and the Shelton Beaty Post 18 American Legion, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and past president of the local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was chairman of the Finance Committee and a certified lay speaker. He married Susan Fugitt Morris June 20, 1992. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Joel Morris of Olathe; three daughters, Sarah Kempke of Olathe and Emily Messing and Abby Dickey, both of Arkansas City; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the church and T.H.E. Brian Trust in care of Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Funeral arrangements are being made through the funeral home.
