Loyd Harmon, 84 passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2016. He was born in Springfield, CO on July 16, 1932 to “A.O.” and Nellie (Richards) Harmon. He was a cattle rancher living through the Great American Dust Bowl. His family then moved to Cripple Creek, CO where he attended Cripple Creek High School. He was married to Katherine “KT” (Robush) Harmon, in 1951. She preceded him in death in 1985. He was the second of 4 children, Gene Harmon (deceased), Roy Harmon and Carol Harmon both of AZ. He had four children, Kathy (Jimmy) Lester of Hennessey, OK, Bruce “Andy” (Terry Shipey) Harmon of Lyle, Washington. Loyd “David” Harmon (Deceased) and Cheryl Harmon (Ryan) of Canon City, CO. His has 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his closest and best friend Terry Sochovka and her family. Cory Sochovka (Laura Ellis) and Theresa Taylor of Canon City. He has 6 Step-Grandchildren and 4 Great Step-grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life on July 15, 2017 at Path Finders Park, Florence Hwy 115 at 11:00 a.m. Contributions may be sent to Sangre de Cristo 601 Greenwood Ave. Canon City, CO 81212.
