Elsie Gayle Baker was born to Virginia and Clay Tipton. August 1, 1937 and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 9, 2014 at the age of 76. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to William Baker and devoted mother to Jeni Ervin , Rhonda Brand, and Bill Baker. She enjoyed being Nina to 10 grandchildren: Ryan, Brandon, Brittany, Lindsay, Kyle, Caleb, Joshua, Collin, Cameron, and Micah. Also 4 great grandchildren : Conner, Preston, Selah, and Noah. She is survived by 4 siblings: Paul Tipton, Ray Tipton, Neice Fultz, and Connie Sendlebach. She loved attending and working at her church, especially teaching Sunday School, organizing Christmas plays, and vacation bible school as well working in the community as an active Girl Scout Leader for over 30 years. Although we are sorrowful of our great loss, She has seen God face to face. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
Visitation was held 4-7 pm at the New Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church in Newport, services began at 7 pm. Graveside services was Tuesday morning at 10 am at Johns Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.cooperfuneralhome.net
