Funeral services were held Monday, July 21, 1986, for Christopher Lee Byers, at the Rangely Middle School gymnasium. Christopher was 15 years old.

Christopher was born March 13, 1971 in Rangley to Gordon and Dena Byers. He was very active in sports, enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, skiing, fishing, and 4-H. He was a student at Rangely High School.

Christopher passed away July 15, 1986, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He is survived by his parents, Gordon and Dena Byers of Rangley; by 3 brothers, Brian of Rangely, Jeff who is serving in the U.S. Air Force, and Brett of Colorado Springs; by 3 sisters, Cena Byers of Rangely, Cathy Garcia of Cortez and Jill White of Pasco, Wash.; by his grandparetnts, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Camplin of Baggs; by his great- grandparents, Vergia Champlin of Fruita and Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Clemants of Montrose; and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his Godparents.

Contributions may be made to the Chris Byers memorial Scholarship Fund through the Bank of Rangley.

Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita. Rangely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
