Kenneth Earl Adams, 57, of New Bern, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern.

He was a native of Louisville, Ky., and a graduate of Swanee High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was employed as a plastic fabricator at NADEP at Cherry Point. He received his license to preach the gospel at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Kentucky and was a member of Fountain of Life Ministries.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oscar's Memorial Chapel, New Bern, with the Rev. Larry Taylor officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Adams of the home; one son, Kenny E. Adams of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Lawrence Adams of Indianapolis, Ind.; and one sister, Lula Samuels of Jacksonville, Fla.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary, New Bern.
