George A. "Red" Piercy died Thursday March 21st, 1996 at 11:20 P.M. at St. James Hospital in Pontiac.
George A. "Red" Piercy was born in 1910 to William R. and
Edythe (Padley) Piercy. He attended country schools near Piper City and graduated from Cabery High School. He Farmed for several years and was a meat cutter for Casper Grocery at Cullom and Don Wayman at Pontiac. He had also worked at Caterpillar in Joliet. He also served as the Water Superintendent of Kempton since 1980. He married Mary Ellen Barkley in Piper City on December 3, 1939.

Surviving are his wife Mary Ellen in Kempton, 2 daughters Diana (Henry) Eggenberger of Saunemin, Marjorie (Richard) Von Qualen of Kempton. Catherine Earin, Minook, IL (widow of William Earing who was raised in the Piercy home). 9 Grandchildren John Arnold, Mark E. and Kristina Eggenberger; Brett R. and Carrie Von Qualen; Michael, Matthew, Christopher, and Sara Earing. 2 Great Granddaughters: Cortney and Nicole Eggenberger. 1 Brother and Sister-in-Law: Frank E. and Ruth Piercy, Tuscon, AZ and two nieces, Susan Piercy of AZ, and Carol Piercy of Guam.

Preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Granddaughter and William Earing.


Friends may call Sunday March 24th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom and 1 hour on monday prior to the service at the church at 1:30 p.m.
