Albert F. Allen
Was engineer at Conrail for 43 years

Albert F. Allen, 63, of North Avenue, was pronounced dead Saturday (Feb. 3, 1990) at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after being stricken at Beverly Lanes Bowling Center.

He was a native of Niagara Falls, the son of the late Francis A. and Mary (Kelly) Allen.

He was employed by Conrail as an engineer, retiring in 1986 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the United Transportation Union. As a youth he was active in sports, particularly in baseball.

He and his wife, Fanny (Lingenfelter) Allen, celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on April 28, 1989.

Allen's son, James E. Allen of Sanborn, said his father was a "devoted husband of 44 years and a loving father."

Besides his wife and son, Allen is survived by two other sons, William F. Allen and Albert E. Allen, both of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Diane S. Pegelow of Middleport and Denise F. Ortiz of Dallas; a brother Earl Allen of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Betty Soluri of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 1124 Ontario Ave., where funeral servies will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Robert J. Bellingham of Hyde Park United Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
