Edman Andres
died at Seltzertown (MS)
Jun 1839
age 70 years
Erected by Catherine Andres
I have found him listed as Edmund Andrews in a brief history of Seltzertown.
The grave is just inside the treeline at the intersection of Hwy 553/Emerald Mound Road & the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Ranger "Mike" at the Mount Locust Historic Inn pointed out this single grave on a orientation trip to Emerald Mound. My husband and I walked all around the area and this is the only grave marker we saw.
Seltzer Town was a town created during the "Boatman Period" of the old Natchez Trace. Mr Andres was a resident of Seltzer Town and was their Postmaster for several years.
