Pedro Barayazara was born in Spain April 28th 1921. However, not sure how he ended up in the United States, Montrose Colorado. There he met my Aunt Stella Belarde and married her in 1959. Together they bought their home and had two children, a daughter Nancy Genevieve in 1960 and a son Serafin Thomas in 1975. The two were married for 31 years until his death in 1990.
There are many fond memories of my Uncle Pedro.
He enjoyed making homemade wine and fishing.
He worked in the coal mines for many years. While working he suffered severe injuries due to an explosion. It was triggered by particles of coal dust coming into contact with a heated methane. Many fragments of rock were found in thoughout his body. Surgeons were unable to retrive all the segments. Pedro was unable to work again and was limited until his death.
