The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Tuesday, May 28, 1996. The Rev. Edward R. Blackburn, 70, of Owens Crossroads, died Monday at his residence. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Boyd Armstrong and the Rev. Randy Sims officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home directing. Rev. Blackburn, a veteran of World War II, was a minister in Madison County and Lincoln County, Tenn. He was retired from SCI and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Blackburn; a son, Michael Blackburn of Huntsville; seven sisters, Lois Burke of Scottsboro, Evelyn Quick and Thelma Daugherty, both of Huntsville, Elizabeth Morris of Effingham, S.C.; Sarah Dorris of Birmingham, Betty Campbell of Killen and Ann Watkins of Warner-Robbins, Ga.; and two grandsons. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. Donations may be made to the Lynn Fanning Scholarship Fund.
