Ralph E. Bartley, 81, of Wheat Street, Cayuga, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at Geneva General Hospital. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Eugene and Helen Coleman Bartley. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Union Springs High School and was a draftsman by trade having been employed at Cowles Co., Cayuga, General Products, Union Springs, and the Singer Company in Auburn. In between job positions, he worked for the Union Springs Central School District. Ralph retired in 1993 after working for 22 years at Welch Allyn, Skaneateles Falls, in production engineering. He was a member of the Cayuga United Methodist Church and was an avid collector of John Deere memorabilia and Hess Trucks. He enjoyed camping and was an avid Syracuse football and basketball fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Tavener Bartley; his daughter, Melea J. Bartley, of Cortland; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by an infant son; and by his sister, Joyce Bonilla.
