She was born August 9, 1914, in Jericho, Wis., a daughter of the late Peter & Rose (Leitner) Lisowe.
On June 8, 1937, she married Sylvester M. Abler at Jericho. They lived in St. Cloud, Wis., for the first 60 years of their marriage, moving to Fond du Lac in 1997. Her husband, Sylvester preceded her in death on May 24, 2002.
Millie was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was employed with Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for many years. She was a member of St. Cloud Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
"Grandma" with her amazing smile and sassy sense of humor will be sadly missed by her daughters, Lois (Gerald) Gross of West Bend and Rose Braun of Fond du Lac; her six grandchildren, Scott (Tracey) Gross, Tammy (Jerry) LaBrec, Candee (Bill) Brace, Traci (Steve) Kraus, Troy (Tami) Braun and Stuart (Lori) Gross; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Sylvester, a granddaughter, six sisters and four brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at St. Cloud Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Rev. Steven Kropp OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp St., St. Cloud, on Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.
A memorial fund will be established in her name.
