Richard was a decorated and disabled Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. He belonged to the Cle Elum VFW. He was a family man and greatly loved.
Richard is survived by his son of Edgewood, WA and daughter of Auburn, WA.; one grandson and four granddaughters; brother of Cle Elum; sister of Algonia, WA.; and sister of Pacific, WA.; 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Jack C. Absher (July 13, 1998 - obituary published in the Yakima Herald Republic July 15, 1998) and mother Margie (Marjorie) Absher (March 14, 2009 - obituary at http://edwardsmemorial.com/fh/home/home.cfm?&fh_id=10429) both of Cle Elum.
Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 2:30 p.m. at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA with a reception at 3:30 p.m. at the William Warren Building, Auburn City Park, Auburn, WA.
