John D. Aikens - age 68 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013. He was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir City. John was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a former pipefitter with the local union.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lori Ann Aikens; mother, Gertrude Aikens; father, John Wesley Aikens; sisters, Jessie Collins and Barbara Presley; son, John Randal Aikens and devoted aunt, Ada Huffine.


He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Aikens Chapman; grandsons, Casey Wilkerson, Zachary Chapman, Nick Chapman, Corey Chapman, Andrew Aikens, Tyler Aikens and Darrel Aikens; granddaughter, Nicole Wilkerson; sister, Patsy Aikens, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.


The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Seay officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Simpson Cemetery for graveside services. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
