Margaret is the daughter of Archibald McPhie and Sarah McLaughlin. She married Epherim Barbour on March 15, 1865 in Erin, Wellington, Ontario. To this couple - 3 sons were born. Humphrey b. 1866, Archibald b. 1867 and William b. 1869. Sadly, Margaret died 4 months after baby William's birth, leaving Epherim with 2 small boys and an infant to care for.
