Thomas Jefferson Cantrell was the son of Abraham Cantrell and Jane Robb. He died after 1900 and was last known to be living in Indian Territory in the general area of Gore in Sequoyah County and/or Kinta in Haskell County. His place of burial is not known. The family story is that he and his wife Molinda West Cantrell are buried on opposite sides of the river as the river was up and could not be crossed in order for him to be placed beside her. However, in 1978 his granddaughter Florence Cantrell reported him to have died in Amarillo, Texas, which would have been where his daughter Emily Crittenden would have been living.
