LITTLE ROCK -- Jane Turner Womble Adams, 78, of Little Rock, died January 31,
1998, at Riley's Oak Hill Manor.
She was born on May 8, 1919, at Warren, a daughter of the late Cone and
Bernice Turner.
She attended Monticello A&M, now the University of Arkansas at Monticello,
She married her first husband, who was also of Warren, while both were in
college. She was a substitute schoolteacher and also taught Sunday school
for many years at Warren First United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies and interests included reading, local and world affairs, sports,
music, nature, travelling, the outdoors, bird watching, nature, playing
bridge and the opera. She worked with her brother-in-law, Dr. Dallas Miles,
for many years at Warren. She then moved to Little Rock and worked for the
Arkansas Easter Seal Society.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Womble, who died in 1969,
and Dr. Horace Adams; two sons, Jan Womble and Charlie Womble; a brother, Cone
Turner; and grandparents, Henry Lee and Scotta Cone Turner and William
Franklin and Ella Belin.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Womble and Marty Womble, both of Little Rock;
a brother, Henry Lee Turner of Morrilton; a sister, Martha Turner Miles of
Russellville; a half sister, Annette Turner Rule of Pine Bluff; and three
grandchildren.
