SPC Brown was born at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama on 5 March 1972. Raised on PeeWee Football and Little League, he went on to play wide receiver and tight end for Opp High Football Team, earning a varsity letter all three years.
On 26 July 1990, he entered active duty and was soon on his way to Ft. McClellan, Alabama where he attended basic training and AIT. He arrived at his first duty station in Kornwestheim, Germany, along with a fellow platoon members SPC's Sigala, Stover and Yoder on the 17 December 1990. He was assigned to 3rd platoon, 300th MP Co., serving as a Military Policeman for the Greater Stuttgart Military Community, and as M60 gunner for his team.
He participated in two squad exercises and several field training exercises. In June 1991, he won the company soldier of the month board and was promoted to the rank of Private First Class in July 1991. He was quickly entrusted with the duty of platoon combat medic. On 16 January 1992, he was promoted to the rank of Specialist and prepared for team leader duties which he assumed in June 1992. SPC Brown took great pride in his uniform and his service. He was a good soldier and a loyal friend. He will be sincerely missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Mona; father, Jeff; brothers, Robert and Jerod; and sister, Megan.

Soldier killed, 2 injured in 1 car highway accident.
STUTTGART, Germany (S&S) -
A U.S. soldier was killed and another soldier and a military spouse were injured in a one-car accident Aug. 26 near Heilbronn, an Army spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
The dead soldier was Spec. Michael S. Brown , 20. He had been assigned to the 300th MP Co at Wilkins Barracks in Kornwestheim, a Stuttgart suburb.
Brown was a passenger in a rented 1991 Opel that went out of control at 2:20 a.m. on a highway about three miles southeast of Heilbronn, said George Huettig, spokesman for the EUCOM Area Support Group in Stuttgart. The car flipped over several times, throwing Brown out of it, then landed in a ditch. Brown was declared dead at the scene. The driver, Pfc. Eduardo Sigala, 20, of the same company, suffered multiple injuries. Another passenger, Laura L. Crumby, 19, also of the Stuttgart area, suffered minor injuries.
Both of the injured were taken to a German hospital in Heilbronn for treatment, and Sigala was transferred later to the Army hospital in Heidelberg. The accident is under investigation.
