A memorial service for Dan McFarland Chandler, formerly of Pasadena, the contractor and owner of the Chandler Construction Co. in Los Angeles, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at All Saints By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Montecito. Interment will be in the family plot at Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles.
Mr. Chandler was a member of a third generation California family. He was born in Los Angeles Nov. 17, 1907, and died June 7 at his Montecito home after an illness of several months
A graduate of Webb Schools in Claremont, he was a member of the All Saints By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, was a board member of the Santa Barbara Collage Hospital and past director of the Valley Club and of the Birnam Wood Golf Club.
He is survived by his widow, Ruth C. Chandler; a son, Dan McFarland Chandler II, Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Helene Chandler Mickle. Palos Verdes; a brother, Thomas Chandler, owner of the Chandler School in Pasadena , and six grandchildren.
