---Joseph Gail Albright, age 82, of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday (May 27, 2000), at the Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri.
---Born on December 28, 1917, in Atlanta, Missouri, he was the son of Lawrence A. and Anna E. (Farr) Albright. On March 6, 1946, in Kirksville, Missouri, he married Charlotte Shanight, who preceded him in death on September 1, 1996. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
---Surviving are one sister, Zelma Stinebaker of Moberly, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews, including Joyce Cox of Centralia, Missouri, Vernon Naylor of Raytown, Missouri, and John Carson of Fayette, Missouri.
---Gail was a graduate of La Plata High School, Truman State University in 1939, and in 1952, at George Washington University, he received the Masters Degree in Education. He served for twenty years in the Air Corps and the USAF. From 1966 to 1974, he taught speech at Truman State University. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Columbia, Missouri.
---A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (June 4, 2000), at the La Plata Christian Church, La Plata, Missouri. Officiating will be the Reverend Jerry Briscoe. Music will be provided by Janis Mitten, organist, and John Gorham, soloist.
