My Grandfather served in the Durham Light Infantry, 8th Battalion, during WW2,he was 29 years old.He was fighting on the island of Sicily in the heat of summer on 17th July 1943 when he lost his life.
Stephen was the son of Charles and Annie (nee Boult)Watson of Acton, Middlesex, husband of my grandmother Rose Watson (nee Clark)(24 July 1915- 21 February 2004)and had three children, Roy (born 5th September 1933-)June and Stephen (26/October 1942 -21st June 1956)
