Mike was a well-known distance running coach and long distance runner. He was formerly an attorney. He loved helping people learn about running and helping them achieve their goals and become coaches themselves. He had a special passion for ultra-marathoning. He was a smoker as a younger man, but stopped smoking after a friend introduced him to running. He passed away from complications of lung cancer. He was 53-years-old, and he was from Gaithersburg, Maryland.
