A lifelong resident, Mildred was born in Poughkeepsie on August 25, 1923 to the late Norman J. and Marguerite DanenHower Meddaugh. On June 29, 1941 she married Harold L. Baker at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie. He predeceased her on June 23, 2000.
Mildred worked as a self-employed hairdresser in Poughkeepsie, and she was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Senior Citizens Club 60.
Mildred is survived by three sons, Richard Baker, John Phillip Baker, and Robert Baker; daughter, Sandra Baker-Gray; two sisters, Doris Grey and Phyllis Croshier; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Hawley and Irene Walker.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
