Matt was born and raised in Logansport, Indiana. He was the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy McGrath.
Matt graduated from Logansport High School in 1975.
He was a resident of Verona, New Jersey, for 29 years, as well as the owner of Benegrathic Sign Design in Verona.
Matt is survived by his wife Gloria (Beneduce); one brother, Ishan (Julie) Vest; nieces and nephews, Gabrielle, Isaiah, and Anna Vest and Joshua and Shay Bredimus. He is also survived by many loving friends.
A celebration of Matt's life was held July 1, 2016, at Ippolito-Dancy Memorial. Matt's brother Ishan officiated the service.
