Larry entered the Army on June 23, 1954, and worked for two years as an ammunition supply specialist. He received a National Defense Service medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
On January 12, 1958, he married Marilyn A. Stein in Detroit, Michigan. For the first ten years of their marriage, they stayed in Detroit, and Larry worked as a sales manager for Wayne Co. Wholesales. In 1970, the couple opened Total Discount in downtown Logansport, Indiana. A year later, Larry moved his family to Logansport and opened a second Total Discount in Peru, Indiana. The couple successfully ran their stores for twenty-five years. In 1995, they retired and moved to Florida.
Larry was an avid golfer and bowler. He made two Holes-in-one, as well as once bowled a perfect score of 300. He enjoyed horse racing, PGA tour golf, following the financial markets, investing, and watching old western movies. He also loved dining out and playing Gin Rummy. Larry was a kind and generous person who helped many people during his life.
He is survived by his wife; sons Barry Ledger and Dr. Gregory (Molly) Ledger; grandchildren Mari Driver, Brooks Ledger, Alex Ledger, and Cole Ledger; and a great-grandson, Lawson Driver.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie and Donald Ledger; and a daughter, Deborah Judi Ledger.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Logansport, Indiana.
