Daughter of George Francis, farmer and religious fanatic, to whom John Thom, later calling himself 'Sir William Courtenay', was released after his committal to Barming Asylum. George Francis was involved in the uprising that culminated in the so-called 'Battle of Bossenden Wood'. Elizabeth was one of the female followers of 'Sir William Courtenay', who was shot and killed by government troops with seven of his supporters.
