MONTPELIER — Farrell Jay Arnell was born to Eugene Richard Arnell and Edna Pugmire Arnell in St. Charles, Idaho. He married Barbara Elean Grunig on May 19, 1962, in Montpelier, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on March 25, 2011.

Farrell was a high priest in the Second Ward when he went to his Heavenly Father. Farrell also served in the U.S. Army in Paris, France, from 1956 with an honorable discharge in 1959.

Farrell was known by many family members and friends as "Gus." He worked several construction jobs of all kinds for many years, retiring from Monsanto Chemical on April 1, 1994

He is survived by the love of his life and eternal companion, Barbara; and his three sons, Kelly (Debby ), Eric (Connie), Chad; four granddaughters; one deceased grandson; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and was an avid bowler.

We will all miss you with your teasing behavior and that everlasting smile. We will especially miss the wearing of all hats, even in the hospital as well as your flashy well-kept green truck.

Farrell passed away in his home on October 17, 2012, surrounded by his wife and children.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012, in the Montpelier Second Ward Chapel at noon. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Charles Cemetery.
