Frank Lewis Clark, 78, of Exeter, N.H., died March 5, 2007, at Exeter Hospital.
Born in Hudson, March 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Fred Lewis and Annie (Harriman) Clark and was a graduate of Hudson High School, Class of 1945.
During World War II, Mr. Clark served two years with the United States Navy aboard the USS Kenneth S. Muir as a radioman.
After his military service, he continued his education, graduating from Wentworth Institute in 1951.
Married to Marjorie (Coolidge) Clark on February 10, 1951, they just recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Originally residing in Hudson, Mr. Clark moved his family to Amesbury in August 1962 to work as a quality control engineer at the Henschel Corp. for 24 years.
He was very active in Amesbury town affairs, serving as chairman of the Red Cross, Disaster Relief chairman, Auxiliary Police officer, call firefighter for Amesbury Ladder Co. No. 1, past president of the Amesbury Industrial Management Commission and member and chairman of the Trustees at the First United Methodist Church. In 1986, he moved to Nobleboro, Maine, where he resided until moving to Exeter, N.H., in August 2004.
Mr. Clark had been a Mason for over 50 years, belonging to Warren Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Amesbury, as well as Doric Lodge of Hudson and the Alna Anchor Lodge of Damariscotta, Maine.
He was a family man, raising eight children, Douglas E., husband of Sue, of Bristol, Maine, Richard A., husband of Susan, of Amesbury and Madison, N.H., Kenneth W. of South Hampton, N.H., Brian S. of Rochester, N.H., David L., husband of Karen, of Amesbury, Holly A. Moughan of Amesbury, Laurie B. Clark of Merrimac and Heidi L. Dover of Raymond, N.H.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jamie A. Clark and his wife, Sandra, Tara L. Clark, Matthew W. Clark, Nathaniel O. Clark, Jason T. Clark, Lauren B. Clark, Sarah A Clark, Emily R. Clark, Torey R. Moughan, Zachary J. Brickett and Jennifer N. Dover; a great-grandson, Kyle A Clark; and many dear friends.
Visiting hours are Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m., starting with the Masonic service conducted by the officers and members of the Warren Lodge.
