DRIGGS — Mary J. Stratten, age 71, of Driggs, Idaho, formerly of Pocatello, Idaho, died Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs. Mary was born August 19, 1935, in Lund, Idaho, to Russell and Marvella Burt Jenkins. She married Kent Tonks, Jim Conway and most recently Frank Stratten, all of whom are now deceased.
She had spent most of her life in Pocatello, moving to Driggs with her daughter in 2002. She was a member of the LDS Church.
In her younger years she enjoyed playing pool; more recently she enjoyed crafts, canning, reading and music.
She is survived by four sons, Keary (Mary) Tonks of Pocatello, Stacy Tonks of Bothell, Washington, Russell (Sandy) Conway of Pocatello, Steven (Cassie) Stratten of Pocatello; a daughter, Lisa (Bob) Foster of Driggs; five stepchildren, Leslie (Sam) Stratten of Texas, Roy (Madeline) Stratten of Arbon Valley, Idaho, Sidney Stratten of Pocatello, Idaho, John (Gaye) Stratten of Pocatello, Idaho, and Janet (George) Robles of Pocatello, Idaho; two sisters, Marva Lou Barnes of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Joyce Argyle of Pocatello, Idaho; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Highland First Ward LDS Church at Satterfield and Butte in Pocatello; a visitation was held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cornelison-Henderson Funeral Home in Pocatello and will then for an hour prior to the funeral at the church on Friday.
Burial will be in the Restlawn cemetery in Pocatello, under the direction of the Valley Mortuary in Driggs.
