Reverend Vincent J Donadio of Manchester died at Shore Meadows Nursing Home, Toms River. He worked for the Diocese of Trenton at St Martha's RC Church, Point Pleasant and Visitation RC Church, Bricktown for 35 years. Served In Vietnam as Chaplain
He lived in Bricktown for many years before moving to Manchester 11 years ago. He served in the Army during Vietnam and then as a Navy Chaplain for Notre Dame.
He is predeceased by his parents Vincent P and Martha Donadio. Surviving are his sister and a niece.

In 1978, I was a senior at St. Mary's High in South Amboy, NJ. In Catholic school, you had religion class. We had a priest the first week of senior year that we absolutely tormented. He wore orange socks, we teased him....the guys threw spitballs at him...we didn't listen, we were AWFUL! NEEDLESS TO SAY, THAT POOR PRIEST NEVER CAME BACK!After a few days, we were sitting in class, and the back door opened....in walked Fr. Vince. He did not give us any time to react, he just laid down the law...he pretty much said, "I will not put up with any crap from any of you, and if you start, you will be outta here!". He was the BEST TEACHER we ever had. We learned alot from him. Something happened and he never made our graduation, but I know we never forgot him, and all he did for us. I did not know of his passing, and wish I had gotten to see him before he passed. Thank you Father Vince, you were the best, and the senior class of St. Mary's (1978) will always remember our time together! You will be missed!
