Albert was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Arts. About 1850 he immigrated to the United States where he stayed with an aunt (Mrs. Cook) in New York before moving to Kentucky. On 05 Oct 1863 he married Anna M. Keller in Louisville, KY, and they had four children: Katherine, Albert, Henrietta, and William. He was porter by trade. Albert died of emphysema of the lungs at the age of 62.
