After the death of her husband Robert in 1895, Cora moved with her daughters to the Chicago area. When her daughter Martha married Edward McGurn and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cora moved with them.
On the 4th of July, 1919, Cora died in Milwaukee. Her remains were returned to Burlington and buried next to her husband in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
