~~*~~Ms.Heang Ay was born on January 10, 1922 in Takeo, Cambodia. At the age of 18 she was married to Pang Kong who passed away in 1973.
~~*~~In Takeo, she worked for many years as a rice farmer until 1970 when she had to move to Phnom Penh because of the war. She survived the Khmer Rouge and left to refugee camp Kao I Dang, Thailand in 1984. She then came to the Beaverton area in 1988 where she has resided since.

~~*~~She has also worked as a midwife,a chiropractor, and for the last 18 years as a nun in the local Cambodian Wat. Among her special interests, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking food, eating dim sum, going to the beach, and she found joy in helping others.
~~**~~She gave birth to 13 children, 9 sons and 4 daughters. She had 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is survived by 9 of her children, 6 sons and 3 daughters. 30 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
