Norbert S. Adamski, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, peacefully at home. Born in Springfield, son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Leonowicz) Adamski, he grew up in Springfield and was a 1944 graduate of Springfield Trade High School. He moved to Feeding Hills in 1957. Norbert worked at the former Rexnord Tool, a division of Chain Belt, for forty-four years, as a production and inventory control manager before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Polish American Club and was also on their board of directors. He was also a navy veteran of World War II, a member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society and a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Norbert loved flying and had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the world. He loved music and once had a band, Nobby Adams and his Royal Hawaiian Band. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff on the 7th floor of the Mass Mutual Wing at Baystate Medical Center and to the Baystate Visiting Nurse & Hospice. He leaves his wife of sixty-four years, Wanda Y. (Smus) Adamski, three sons and their wives, Edwin J. and Charlene Adamski of Agawam, Steven N. and Julie Adamski of Feeding Hills, Paul A. and Theresa Adamski of Westfield, two daughters, Sandra Thornton of Grants Pass, OR, Susan A. and her husband James Grupp of Granby, CT, four sisters, Eugenie Kuczarski and Delphine Skiba both of Springfield, Helene Szewczyk of Suffield, Antoinette Pieniazek of Indian Orchard, seven grandchildren, Lauren, Nathan, Daniel, Michelle, Bethany, Ariana, Alison, several nieces and nephews and his beloved four legged friends, Snuggles, Honey, Joey, Cody, Bella, Willy, Tess and Nobi. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin Adamski, Eligio E. Adamski and a son-in-law, Dudley Thornton. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts.
