Dodge Roland Allen was one of a dozen children born to Marion Stanley Allen and Amelia Clara (Kolb) Allen on Oct 12, 1903 in Sherburn, Linn County, Oregon. His father, Marion Stanley, was a native of Wisconsin, with his father b. in New York and his mother born in CT. His mother, Amelia Clara, was a native of Pennsylvania, 1st generation American with both of her parents being born in Germany. Marion and Amelia had married in 1886 in Wisconsin. They had 1st settled in Minnesota, where Maurice, b.1888, and Merlin, b.1889, had been born. They had then relocated to Wisconsin, where Elbert, b.1891, Clair, b.1893, Glen, b.1895, Marion, b.1898, and their only daughter, Elsie, b.1900, had been born. Their final move had been to Oregon, where they had settled onto a farm at Shelburn, Linn County. This is where Keith, b.1902, Dodge Roland, b. Oct 12, 1903, and Neil G., b. Sep 5, 1905, had been born. [There were two other children, but I have not been able to find them; they apparently died at early ages.] Dodge and Neil purchased a gasoline station together in the 1930's. Neil went on to marry Wilma, an Oregon native, b. Jul 1911. Neil and Wilma had at least one child from their marriage, Jennette, b. 1932. Dodge did not marry, but enlisted in the Army after the beginning of World War II, in 1942, attaining the rank of PFC before being discharged at the end of his tour of duty. Dodge purchased a house at 1415 Salem Road in Albany where he lived the rest of his days. His father died from stomach cancer on Jun 5, 1933, and was buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Albany, Linn County, OR. His mother passed Nov 24, 1938, and was buried near her husband at the Masonic Cemetery. Dodge Roland Allen passed from this life on July 29, 1977, at the age of 73 yrs. and was also buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Albany, Linn County, Oregon. May they all Rest Peacefully.
