Lupe was born to Jose and Carolina Infante, the third of 13 children. She grew up in Texas and married Abraham Alvarado in August of 1948. They had nine children and moved to Colorado in 1954, first to Fort Morgan, then to the Prospect Valley area. Lupe was a house wife until Abraham died in November 1972. In September of 1979 she landed her job with Weld RE-3J as a kitchen-aide and janitor. She was later given more duties and became a cook. She loved her job and seeing all the kids at school, but in December of 2001, Lupe was forced to retire due to her health. It was a very hard time for her as she was forced to leave a job she loved and looked forward to doing on a daily basis. Lupe enjoyed cooking, and doing jigsaw puzzles and keeping up her home. Survivors included: children Abraham (Judy) Alvarado Jr. of Fort Lupton, Carlos (Aurora) Alvarado of Greeley, Rick (Barb) Alvarado of Kersey, Maria Alvarado and Gina Sylvia Alvarado of Roggen, Juanita (Manuel) Cano of Longmont and Irma (Brad) Peterson of Roggen; 13 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; sisters Virginia Infante and Dominga Mendiola; and brothers Javier, Pablo, Martin (Anna) Infante, Jose (Rosa) Barrajas, Jesus Infante all of Los Fresnos, TX. Preceding beside Abraham were infant son Jorge, brothers Pedro and Juan Jose Infante, sisters Juana Barrajas and Isabella Ramirez and both parents. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
