He worked for 42 years as a hotplant operator in road construction, as owner/operator of Hicks-Adams Contractors, and was a hotplant supervisor for H. K. Contractors and also for BECO Construction. He retired in 2000. He was a member of BPOE # 1087.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, camping and traveling. He rode in rodeos and owned and loved race horses and ‘hot bloods."
