PORTALES, N.M. - Philip Fraze, 94, died Saturday, May 29, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery. Mr. Fraze was born in Arkansas. He married Lois Pruett in 1929. They farmed in the Dora area until 1972, when they moved to Portales. He was active for many years in Long's Baptist Church and then at Dora Baptist Church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portales. Mr. Fraze was preceded in death by his wife in January; and by a son, Donald Fraze, in 1994. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Adams of Portales, Sybil Victor of Dora and Mamie Kennedy of Portales; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
