"Williamsport Sun-Gazette": Mahlon G. Edkin, 81, of Jersey Shore, died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at home.
He was born May 8, 1928 in Lock Haven, the son of Thomas and Eliza Mae (Bilby) Edkin.
Mahlon was the husband of the former Charlene Louise Thomas with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.
Mahlon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed in Austria during the conflict.
He retired from Piper Aircraft, Lock Haven.
Mahlon enjoyed camping, gardening and was active for many years with the American Red Cross.
He is survived by his son, Stacy (Iris) Edkin of Jersey Shore, and daughter Lisa M. (Butch) Brown of Lock Haven; five grandchildren, Shannon Terry, James Edkin, Joseph Edkin, Charlene Etters and Erin Brown; three great grandchildren: Leah Edkin, Londan Edkin and Audrey Etters and one brother, Robert E. Edkin of Lamar.
