We are pained to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Robert Anderson, of Soldier township, last Saturday morning of heart disease. Mr. Anderson was one of the most prominent citizens of the township where he has lived. The following obituary notice has just been received.
Died, Saturday, September 19, 1885, Robert Anderson of heart disease. Mr. Anderson was born in Ireland October 16,1816. His parents moved to Canada when he was quite young, where he lived until 1847. In 1841 he was married to Mary Ann Beatly by whom he had one son, James. His wife died in 1842. In 1846 he was married to Jane Lloyd, by whom he had four sons and seven daughters. After his second marriage he lived in Canada, Wisconsin and Illinois until 1860 when he came to Kansas and settled in Jackson county near Soldier. He was an old settler and a time honored citizen, having been a number of times chosen by the people to manage the affairs of the township and mete out justice to those who entered into litigation. He died at Willis, Brown County, Kansas, having gone there in company with his wife to visit friends. His sickness was very short and death was unexpected. The remains were brought home and interred in the Soldier cemetery of which he was a trustee and one of the original incorporators. A large body of friends paid their last earthly regards to his body, and to the sorrowing family their true sympathies are extended.

Robert Anderson was born in Ireland October 16, 1816. He married, first Mary Ann Beatley. They had one son, James. Mary Ann died in 1842. In 1845 Robert married Jane Lloyd by whom he had four sons and seven daughters, They came to Kansas in 1860 and settled in Soldier. He became an honored citizen of that township and later of the town of Soldier. He died suddenly September 19, 1885, and is buried in Soldier Cemetery.

Missing Children are: Arthur Anderson Abt 1857. He was in Idaho in 1880. The story told, he went to help Marjery Nuzman to find a new home. He left Marjery to seek a home and was never heard from again.
