Edgar Backman, 70, Rt. 5, Washington Heights, died Friday at College Hill Nursing Home.
Mr. Backman was born September 17, 1905, in Westmoreland.
He operated a sporting goods store before his retirement.
Survivors include his widow, Merillat Backman , of the home; two sons, Jack Backman and Cris Backman; three daughters Carole Beffort, Sandy Nelson and Dinah Hoke; a sister, Inez Carr, and eight grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be Tuesday at Sunrise Cemetery. Parkview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The casket will remain closed.
