Rose was born in Lapeer, MI the fourth child of Raymond H. Wirth Sr. and Helyn L. (Wilson) Wirth. She spent the majority of her youth in Owosso, MI where she met and married Adrian Terry Ahern with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. They moved to Muskegon, MI in 1968 where they raised four children; Sharon (Mike) Brown, Patrick (Valerie) Ahern, Brian Ahern and Adrian J. Ahern. Rose also had six grandchildren, Erin Cline, Megan (Ken) Slocum, Ariel Ahern, Robert Ahern, Jillian Brown and Kaylin Brown. Rose is survived by all of her children and grandchildren as well as a brother Myron (Patty) Wirth, a sister Mary Cone and a sister-in-law Jackie Wirth.
Rose and Terry retired to Lakeland, FL in 1993. Rose loved arts and crafts and her home reflected her skill in decorating. She taught pre-school religion at St. Francis de Sales Church in Muskegon, MI for many years and several of her students still remember her.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 11am Friday, December 20, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm.
