Marina and Volodymyr Butsky were born in a charming city in Ukraine by the name of Poltava. In December 1999 they moved to the USA and onto live in San Jose, California - arguably the best places in the world!

They were quite big enthusiasts of photography and home movies. They also loved traveling, camping and backpacking. California gave them a chance to explore gorgeous mountains, beautiful caves, deep green forests and the mighty Pacific Ocean. So when they had a free day or two they always tried to spend it outdoors. And they always carried their photo and video equipment, just in case there was something beautiful to record. And there always was something to record… ;)

They started their family back in December 1990 when Marina and Vlad were married. They knew each other for almost four years and spent a lot of time together even before they started dating.

In the next four years their two beautiful daughters were born. And in 1995 Marina and Vlad graduated from Poltava State Technical University in Ukraine.

In December 1999 Vlad flew to the US. Their family shared this amazing and adventurous trip with him. They moved to the Portland, Oregon and started experiencing a new life style. It was very good, even though they didn’t yet know how to shop or even use a pay phone.

In late April 2000 Vlad landed a new contract and they had to move to Silicon Valley, California! This is the place every Software Engineer wants to go (Vald knew that was a bold statement, but he believed it) because the Silicon Valley is the place where most of world's software was designed.

Vald said, "California is great! Especially the weather! It’s also very exciting to see huge world leading companies like Sun, Oracle, IBM or Intel that I read about a long time ago when I was back in Ukraine."

In November 2005 Vald joined a small company - "It was my long time dream to work for a small company where my experience and energy could make a real difference and where my career can grow further."

Vald said, "In recent years we picked up a couple of new and exciting activities: shooting sports and scuba diving. We like both of them and now have to share our free time between camping trips, backpacking, trips to shooting ranges and ocean diving."

Marina and Volodymyr Butsky both passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 doing one of the things they most enjoyed: ocean scuba diving off the coast of Monterey California. Family and friends are invited to join for the Prayer Service,Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:00am at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Santa Clara, California. Graveside Committal to follow at 11:00am at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St. Santa Clara, California
