William J. Bryan, son of Samuel Barbee & Pauline Josephine "Pearl" Watson Bryan, and husband of Clara Harris Bryan.

Funeral services for W. J. Bryan, 59, prominent Giles County native who was vice-president of Third National Bank in Nashville were held Tuesday in Nashville. He died Sunday morning at Vanderbilt Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park following services at West End Methodist Church, officiated at by Dr. Ben B. St. Clair.
Mr. Bryan was born at Bunker Hill and grew up in that community and around Bryson. His mother, Mrs. S. B. Bryan of Ardmore, survives.
He was graduated in 1921 from Massey Military School in Pulaski and later returned there as a member of the faculty. He received his BA degree from Vanderbilt University in 1927.
Mr. Bryan was married in 1930 to the former Clara Harris of Pulaski, who survives.
The nationally known banker joined Third National Bank in 1939. He held a degree from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutger's University.
He was a director and former president of the Independent Bankers Association, having served on its legislative committee for many years.
Mr. Bryan was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Nashville Exchange Club, the Nashville Booster Club, Richland Country Club, Cumberland Club and the old University Club.
He was a member of West End Methodist Church.
Surviving, besides his wife and mother, are a son, W. J. Bryan, Jr., New York; a daughter, Mrs. Horace Sibley, Atlanta; three brothers, B. A. Bryan, R. E. Bryan and John Bryan, all of Ardmore; and three sisters, Mrs. Kermit George, Dellrose, Mrs. Robert Wynne, Pulaski, and Mrs. H. E. Flanigan, Los Angeles.

His Death Certificate has his parents as Samuel B. Bryan and Pearl (Watson) Bryan, and the informant on the certificate was W. J. Bryan Jr of Nashville. The certificate also listed William Jennings Bryan Sr as the vice-president of a bank.
