Joseph Layfield
Columbus, Ga., Oct. 27 – Joseph Layfield, aged twenty years and a student at the A. & M. College at Carrollton, died at the home of his brother-in-law, Alderman T.L. Bowden, Monday. Mr. Layfield became ill at college and was on his way to his home in Chattahoochee County, but was too ill to proceed farther than this city. He was a bright and promising young man and a devoted Christian, and had a host of friends who regret his death very much. He is survived by his parents, four brothers and four sisters, all of Chattahoochee County, except Mrs. Bowden.
