Born Feb 1, 1882 to Henry A. and Sallie H. Coffey at Massie's Mill, Nelson, Virginia. He married Carrie W. Snedegar, a school teacher, on June 7, 1911. They had three sons; Malcolm A., James C., and Charles F. Coffey. The Coffey family left Virginia for Dallas, Texas. Wallace Berga Coffey was a plumber by trade employed by Colonial Plumbing Co.

On December 4, 1941 Wallace Berga suffered a Coronary Thrombosis and passed away one hour later. He was preceded in death by his spouse of thirty years, Carrie W. Snedegar Coffey. He was survived by his sons Malcolm, James, Frank and his wife Mary Sullivan Coffey and one grandchild Bertha Jean Coffey. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
