Lee Bettes, Jr., 57, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma died Wednesday afternoon following a short illness. Born June 22, 1926, in Norman, Oklahoma, he lived in Norman until moving to Pauls Valley 20 years ago. He graduated from Norman High School.

He was a former Norman police officer and was owner of Valley Communications and Bettes Radio in Pauls Valley and of Air-Com in Lindsey, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; three sones, Clay of the home, Wayne of Pauls Valley and Larry of Palmdale, California; a daughter, Letha Maylone of Payola; his mother, Etta of Norman; two sisters, Helen Copeland of Norman and Lucile Oxner of Marianna, Arkansas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday in Stufflebean Funeral Chapel in Pauls Valley with the Reverend Dennis Hanrahan officiating. Burial will be in Pauls Valley Cemetery with Stufflebean Funeral Home in Pauls Valley in charge of arrangements.
